Singer Luis Miguel is in the middle of controversy due to rumors suggesting that he canceled his concert at the Arena Ciudad de México to attend a private event with Formula 1 driver Sergio 'Checo' Pérez. The cancellation of the concert, scheduled for Wednesday, October 23, was attributed to last-minute logistical problems, according to the company in charge of the organization.
However, several reports indicate that the real reason behind the cancellation is related to an invitation Luis Miguel received from Pérez to attend a private party along with other drivers, taking advantage of the proximity of the Mexican Grand Prix that will be held at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez over the weekend.
Journalist Ana María Alvarado stated during the program 'Sale El Sol' that Luis Miguel preferred to attend the private event organized by Checo Pérez instead of appearing at his concert. Alvarado mentioned: 'I will tell you the reason why Luis Miguel will not be at the Arena Ciudad de México today, because Checo Pérez invited him yesterday to a gathering with the drivers and today Paloma Cuevas is arriving and he is going to receive her and they are going to have dinner.'
It is noted that Luis Miguel and Checo Pérez have maintained a solid friendship for several years, and it has even been revealed that their relationship is so close that it seems like that of brothers. Both figures had previously met before sporting events, such as the 2023 Spanish Grand Prix and the 2022 Monaco GP.
